Prosper Arts and Music Festival Recovers Nicely

It was a great plan, and slated to be a top notch event, but larger forces intervened. The Prosper Arts and Music Festival was scheduled for Saturday, September 13 — blown a little of course by a huge hurricane and tropical storm. Now the event will take place — God willing — on September 27th, 10 AM to 7 PM. You’ll find the festival’s venue easily, as it will be located among the shops of the Prosper Town Center.

I love a well run event, but I’m totally impressed when a volunteer team can quickly pirouette, adapt, overcome, and just keep rolling. That’s what Beverly Babis and her intrepid colleagues, Becky Conklin and Mary Jane Kellogg, have managed to do. And the event still promises to be a first class effort.

Not that what looks easy, actually is easy. This is an ensemble of go-getters who just won’t take “no” for an answer—even from a major weather event. A lot of hard work has gone into planning the main event, and the team has scrambled and worked just as hard to recover.
Are you an artist or vendor interested in having a booth? Time is short, but the date change has opened four booths as of this writing. Contact Beverly at 469-247-8243 if you are interested. Sponsors are appreciated too.
Numerous musicians are scheduled to perform throughout the day, with Collin County Songwriters Association members, The Black Prairie Band, still headlining. This is a wonderful opportunity to be entertained and support live music in North Texas. Find out more at:

I hope to see you there.
