Rising Star: "Faith"

"Where does that voice come from?!"

"Such a big voice from such a little body"

"She has the voice of an angel"

These are just a few of the comments I hear about a local Wylie talent that's making her way to the top. A honeywheat blonde-haired, blue-eyed, 15 year old talent with a voice that is astounding even celebrity judges across the state of Texas. "Faith" is a force to be reckoned with!

I've had the pleasure of working with Faith, mentoring her and helping her learn songs--including some of my own. I've shared the stage with her many times over the first half of 2005, and I can tell you she gets better every time I hear her.

From her unique styling of the classic hit "Crazy" made famous by Patsy Cline, to her heartfelt emotional rendition of "Cry" by Crystal Gayle, Faith is able to bring a depth of musical soul that far surpasses her youth. While her range is impressive and her ability to conquer most any song is inspiring, her unique gift spans many genres of music. She has beenknown to pay tribute to the classics, kick it up a notch with current hits and do proper justice to original songs. Faith can do it all.

Recently, Faith entered the Texas state competition for the National American Miss pageant. Not a surprise to me, she wowed 'em--so much so that she will compete in the national pageant in November. NOTE: Any of you that would be willing to sponsor her, please give me a call at 972-841-0226 or contact her mother at singingbyfaith@yahoo.com. This young lady has worked hard and deserves our support.

Part of that work has included performing at the Wylie Opry, The Garland Opry (including their Talent Search), Coffee Dreams and Dunn Bros. Coffee (with me), and numerous school choirs, including All Region.
